Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Seaglass Hunter collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Seaglass Hunter is operated by Brumleve Brands ("we", "us", "our"). This page is maintained by us to answer common privacy questions about the Service; it is not an independent certification.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — email address, display name, and optional profile details (bio, home region, avatar).
  • Content you upload — photos of finds, notes, categories, and any coordinates you choose to attach to a find.
  • Payment information — if you subscribe to Seaglass Hunter Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and stores your billing details. We receive a subscription status and the last four digits of the card, not full card numbers.
  • Usage data — basic diagnostic and analytics data such as pages viewed, features used, and error reports, used to improve the Service.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the Service — hosting your library, generating AI identifications, and enabling social features.
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions, and handle refund requests.
  • To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
  • To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms.

3. Location data

Location on a find is optional. If you make a find public, its coordinates are shown on the finds map and to other users. Keep finds private if you do not want the location shared. We recommend never publishing precise coordinates of environmentally sensitive or protected sites.

4. Sharing and subprocessors

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with service providers who help us run Seaglass Hunter, including:

  • Cloud hosting and database (Lovable Cloud / Supabase)
  • Payments (Stripe)
  • AI identification providers used to generate species suggestions
  • Transactional email delivery

Each provider is bound by their own security and privacy commitments and only processes data on our behalf.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, to remember your preferences, and for basic usage analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may break parts of the Service (for example, staying signed in).

6. Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your profile and finds within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep records (for example, tax and payment records).

7. Your choices

  • Edit or delete any find at any time from your library.
  • Make finds private so they do not appear in public views or on the map.
  • Request a copy or deletion of your account data by emailing us.
  • Cancel or manage your subscription from the billing portal.

8. Children

Seaglass Hunter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can remove it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect.
